Gülten Akin
1933-2015

A poet with a unique voice that appeals both to individual sensibilities and a universal social conscience. In 2008 she was voted Turkey’s greatest living poet. Most of her work has been awarded prestigious prizes in Turkey. Her poems have been translated into German, Flemish, Danish, Italian, Bulgarian, Arabic, Polish, Spanish and Hebrew.
